[VÍDEO] The day Federer defeated (finally) Nadal on clay

The long rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal has many remarkable moments and one of the most relevant is undoubtedly the day when the Swiss, then number one in the world, finally defeated the Spanish, ranked second ATP, on dirt, a surface on which he had already lost almost a dozen times before the Majorcan in the previous two years and in which Nadal was virtually invincible.

On May 20, 2007, Federer won the ATP Masters 1000 in Hamburg, defeating Nadal in the final and ending a historic series of 81 (!) Consecutive victories – and 13 titles – for the Spaniard on clay. Rafa, coming from titles in Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Rome in the previous three weeks, failed to win a fourth tournament in a row, but he would not miss out on Roland Garros, three weeks later, by precisely beating Federer in the final.
