Borussia Dortmund’s newcomer Thomas Meunier has expressed clear criticism of his former club Paris Saint-Germain. He also denounced misrepresentations of the club.
Meunier: Leonardo never tried to reach an agreement with BVB
His departure was therefore anything but harmonious. Meunier actually wanted to appear for PSG in the Champions League in August. But nothing came of it.
“Leonardo never tried to get an agreement with BVB, let alone with me! He wanted me to appear for PSG practically free of charge,” said the 28-year-old.
The clubs should have negotiated a rental fee for this month. In addition, Meunier’s insurance would have been unclear.
Meunier was no longer allowed on the PSG club site: “Typical case of loss of reality”
In addition, even after the corona loosening, he was no longer allowed on the club premises. According to the full-back, he was informed of this by a lawyer’s letter. That’s why he took legal advice himself.
“Then I was told by phone that I shouldn’t cross the path of whoever because I could tell disturbing stories. Typical case of loss of reality,” said Meunier.
The Belgian played for PSG from 2016 to 2020. In the summer he will now transfer to BVB free of charge.
