Shield smartphone camera from stray light

Veils, artifacts or completely overexposed motifs: scattered light can make life very difficult for amateur photographers. Where at this point lens flares are used in adult cameras, smartphones have to be handled differently.

The Stiftung Warentest advises that effective scattering, backlighting or sidelight can be effectively shielded by hand, which is held flat and just above the lenses of the smartphone camera.

If the disturbing light comes from one side or even from below, the shielding hand must be placed next to or under the lenses. Whether the trick works can be checked directly on the display.
