David Beckmann remains on the wave of success in Formula 3. Two weeks after his triumph at the Hungaroring, the 20-year-old was declared the winner on Sunday in Silverstone more than five hours after the end of the race.
The Trident pilot, who finished second, benefited from a five-second time penalty against the Russian Alexander Smolyar (ART Grand Prix) for unsportsmanlike driving.
Beckmann new third overall
In the overall ranking of the junior motorsport series, Beckmann improved to third place with 64.5 points. Leader Oscar Piastri (Australia / 94) had to park his prema racer due to technical problems. In the main race on Saturday Beckmann had to be content with ninth place, but this gave him the very good second place for the sprint over 20 laps according to the reverse grid rule.
