Belgian super talent wins again

Belgium’s super talent Remco Evenepoel won the Burgos Tour on Saturday, celebrating his third win of the season on a multi-stage trip.

The 20-year-old from Team Deceuninck-Quick Step took third place on the fifth and final leg of Covarrubias over 158 kilometers after Lagunas de Neila to successfully defend his lead in the overall standings.

Evenepoel had already won the Algarve tour and the San Juan tour in the season.

On Saturday, the hope of the attacks, hailed as the new Eddy Merckx in his homeland, had to defend the Spaniard Mikkel Landa (Bahrain-McLaren). Landa finally crossed the finish line in second, nine seconds behind the Colombian climbing specialist Ivan Sosa (Ineos). Evenepoel was third two seconds behind.

Kämna best German

Lennard Kämna from Team Bora-hansgrohe was fifth and thus the best German on the last section, who finished 17th overall, 5:41 minutes behind Evenepoel.
