The first weekend of August promises to be particularly busy on the roads. Saturday August 1, traffic is classified black by Bison Futé in the direction of departures, orange in the direction of returns. It will indeed “extremely difficult” on the vast majority of roads, warns warns the National Traffic Information Center.
Its website specifies that traffic jams will be particularly important in “Burgundy, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and on the Mediterranean arc” especially “on the A6, A7 and A9 motorways. Traffic difficulties are also expected towards the Grand-Ouest, on the A10 motorway”.

Traffic advice in the direction of departures
Here is what Bison Futé recommends for departures :
– in Île-de-France access the A10 tollbooth before 6 a.m. or after 12 p.m.
– avoid leaving or returning to large cities, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
– avoid the A10 motorway between Orléans and Tours from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from Niort to Bordeaux, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
– avoid the A63 motorway from Bordeaux to Spain between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
