Ravello (Salerno), August 1. (askanews) – At the Ravello Festival 2020 it is time for chamber music with the participation of the most famous Italian string quartet in the world, the Cremona Quartet.
Cristiano Gualco, Paolo Andreoli (violins), Simone Gramaglia (viola) and Giovanni Scaglione (cello) will debut on the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo on Sunday 2 August (20.30) with an entirely Beethovenian program: String quartet in F minor op.95 Serioso e the String Quartet in E minor op.59 n.2 “Razumovsky”.
Since its foundation in 2000, the Cremona Quartet has established itself as one of the most interesting chamber companies at international level and is regularly invited to perform in the main music festivals and reviews in Europe, South America, the United States and the Far East, collecting unanimously public and critical acclaim.
After receiving the “BBT Fellowship” in 2005, the Quartetto di Cremona was awarded the “Franco Buitoni Award 2019” by the Borletti Buitoni Trust, for its constant contribution to the promotion and diffusion of chamber music in Italy and worldwide .
In the recording field, in 2018, the publication of the complete Beethoven quartets was completed: the eight volumes obtained prestigious record awards (including Echo Klassik 2017 and ICMA 2018) and important awards from specialized critics. In spring 2019, with the participation of cellist Eckart Runge, a double CD dedicated to Schubert was released, received enthusiastically by international critics.
