Drafting Sports, Aug 2 (EFE) .- The Spanish driver Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20 R5) was classified this Sunday third in the Rally di Alba, scoring for the Italian Championship and in which he participated for the first time with a car managed by the BRC Racing Team.
The Rally di Alba put the culmination to the Cantabrian Italian journey during the last two weeks, in which he competed last week with a Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC to win the Rally Stars di Roma Capitale, and, this at the controls of an i20 R5 with which he completed the podium of a test won by Craig Breen, ahead of Jari Huttunen. Both also with Hyundai i20 R5.
“It was fun to ride the tarmac a year later, the Hyundai i20 R5. Logically, the car has nothing to do in terms of chassis and engine use with the WRC, “says Sordo in statements released by his team.
“Even so, we have been taking the references again and running more and more to, in the end, get third place on the podium. Anyway, the important thing is that we have been able to compete again, after having been standing for so many months , and, at the same time, the kilometers we have added and the pace of the race we have been recovering thanks to these two rallies ”, he adds.
