The Portuguese champions FC Porto won the double and won the national cup for the 17th time on Saturday evening. In the ghost final in Coimbra, Porto maintained the upper hand with a 2-1 (0-0) defeat of record champion Benfica Lisbon, club of former international Julian Weigl, despite a 52-minute shortfall. It was the first double for Porto since 2011.

The 25-year-old Congolese central defender Chancel Mbemba (47th / 58th) was a two-goal scorer for the cup winner in the second half. The Brazilian Carlos Vinizius (84th), who came on for Weigl after an hour, was only able to make the connection with a penalty. Porto played outnumbered Colombian Luis Diaz from the 38th minute after the yellow-red card.
