Removed from land since 2018 and a last adventure in the United States with the Phoenix Rising, Didier Drogba could return to the world of football. Saturday, in Treichville, a commune of Abidjan, Drogba, accompanied by his supporters, officially submitted his candidacy for the elections for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation.
To do this, it obtained the eight sponsorships and the support of one of the five necessary interest groups.
Didier Drogba believes that Ivorian football is in a bad situation and he wants to put it back on the right track: “It is not so much being president of the FIF that interests me, but it is the mission that binds this function. Our football is going badly, we are committed to contributing to the rebirth of Ivorian football. I am back and determined to contribute my stone to the building, to the renewal and to the development of Ivorian football “.
On social networks, the player launched his campaign with a tweet showing his determination.
For this election, two other candidates are already known: Idriss Diallo, former third vice-president of the FIF, and Sory Diabaté, current first vice-president of the Ivorian Federation and president of the Professional Football League.
