A week after their defeat in the Coupe de France final against PSG (0-1), the Greens easily won against Bordeaux (4-2) this Saturday in a preparation match. One was playing his fifth preparation match interspersed with a lost Coupe de France final against PSG (0-1) ; the other was in his second friendly match, only. Between Saint-Étienne and the Girondins de Bordeaux, there was no photo this Saturday. Led by the score in the second minute and a goal from Nordin, Paulo Sousa’s players only deluded one period, the first. And again: after returning to the score thanks to a penalty obtained by Zerkane and transformed by De Préville (29th), they found a way to find themselves led at the break, trapped by Aouchiche, scorer for his first under the Stéphanois jersey. Despite the changes made by Puel at the break – Sousa, he waited for the hour mark – Saint-Étienne attacked the second period again like the first: it only took him three minutes to widen the gap thanks to the fifth Charles Aby’s goal since the start of preparation. Better, the serial goalscorer from Saint-Etienne offered himself a double after a cons which saw the Bordeaux Jovanovic injured (71st). The reduction in Alexandre Mendy’s score in additional time will remain anecdotal (92nd).
