Madrid, Aug 1 (EFE) .- The intense heat, which since Thursday affects the entire peninsula and the Balearic Islands, is withdrawing this Saturday from the northern third, with temperatures in marked decline in Galicia, Cantabrian and Navarra, but intensifies in the extreme south, with records between 40 and 43 degrees in wide areas.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains around thirty provinces of ten autonomous communities on alert due to heat, in orange level -significant risk- large areas of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Madrid, Region of Murcia, Valencian Community and the Balearic archipelago, for values above 40 degrees.
The map of the alerts is, however, very different from that of the past days, when the entire peninsula registered some type of warning on Thursday and up to twelve autonomous communities kept the orange level activated on Friday.
As collected by the Aemet on its website, this Friday the maximum temperature was measured in Montoro (Córdoba), with 42.4 degrees, followed by Granada airport, Jalance (Valencia) and Almadén (Ciudad Real), with 41.8, and from Écija (Seville), with 47 degrees.

Rainfall will be limited to the north end, with drizzles in the Cantabrian Sea, although in the afternoon daytime evolution clouds could form in mountain areas, which will give rise to storms, generally dispersed and more likely in the Pyrenees, Iberian System environment and mountains of the peninsular southeast.
And it will be on Monday when the decline is appreciated in much of the country, according to the Aemet, which clarifies that, while in the northern half and the Balearic Islands very few areas will exceed 32 degrees, the values will remain above 35 in the center and south peninsular.
And he announces that it is possible that from Tuesday a new and progressive rise in temperatures will begin in most of Spain, which in the middle of the week may lead to a very warm new episode.
According to the Meteored meteorological portal, August presents clear positive temperature anomalies, which will be higher in the southernmost areas of the European continent, such as the Iberian Peninsula, France and Italy.
The month has actually started with the highest summer temperatures, with values up to 4 or 5 degrees above the average, the website points out, and, although during the first week the values will drop slightly, they will continue to be higher than normal, above all in the Guadalquivir valley, Extremadura and southern Castilla y León.
Already in the second week of August, Castilla y León, northern Extremadura and the Pyrenees will reach the highest records, with temperatures up to 3 degrees above the average, while the Canary Islands will remain on the sidelines, with temperatures typical of the time, Meteored says. , which underlines that everything seems to indicate that this scenario will continue until the beginning of September.
In addition, August will be characterized by rarer rains than usual in the interior of the eastern half and in the eastern Cantabrian Sea, areas where stormy showers are most often concentrated at this time of year.
