Uli Hoeneß does not believe in the transfer of international Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen to Bayern.
“I am sure that there will be no major transfers to Leroy Sané this year,” said the honorary president of the German record champion in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (Monday edition).
That had nothing to do with the quality of Havertz, said Hoeneß.
The long-time Bayern manager added: “We all consider him a very, very good player. But in the Corona period after a transfer of almost 50 million, one of 70, 80 million or more without secured counter-financing through player sales I can’t imagine. “
Rummenigge also ticks off Havertz’s deal
Leverkusen’s sports director Simon Rolfes said in a media round last Thursday that no concrete request had yet been received for the top star, who was apparently willing to leave.
Recently, various media had reported that Havertz agreed with Chelsea and the blues wanted to start negotiations with Bayer.
Like Hoeneß, Bavaria’s chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also last SPORT1-Interview excluded a change from Havertz to Bayern this summer.
