Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang received a very special award from his teammates.
In Bukayo Sako’s Instagram story, the cup hero of Arsenal posed with a picture of a goat at the cabin party after the FA Cup triumph.
The message behind it was: Aubameyang is “the GOAT” – the greatest ever. “Are you kidding me?”, Aubameyang commented on the honor with the goat picture.
Arsenal future? Aubameyang is “really not worried”
With his double pack, the former Dortmund single-handedly led the Gunners to the 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final. After a converted penalty kick (28th), he underscored his whole class with a notable lop with his weaker left foot (67th). And its value for Arsenal.
But will the 31-year-old still appear for the North Londoners in the coming season?
“I’m really not worried about that. I just want to enjoy it with the boys,” said Aubameyang BT Sports.
Arteta wants to get Aubameyang used to trophies
However, his skills on the ball are significantly more profitable than his handling of the trophy. When the captain wanted to celebrate the victory with his colleagues with the trophy in hand, the pot slipped and broke in two when he hit the lawn.
“He needs more experience with trophies,” said coach Mikel Arteta jokingly. “We can get him used to it.”

Aubameyang’s contract will only run until 2021. To prevent a free transfer, Arsenal would have to sell the Gabonese this summer. But the Gunners’ plans are different.
Arteta fights for Aubameyang’s whereabouts
“He knows what I think about him. I want to build the team around him,” said Arteta the BBC and was confident about an extension of the contract: “I think these moments help him to realize that we are on the right path and that he is a big part of it. He is loved by everyone in the club. Hopefully he can continue with us. “
Aubameyang also found positive words for the ex-professional, who led the Gunners to a conciliatory end of the season after the separation from Unai Emery with the cup triumph.
“I think he deserves this win. He did a great job. We are all happy that we have him on board and we just follow him,” said Aubameyang.
Although victory in the FA Cup still secured the ticket for the Europa League to the Gunners, Arsenal was again far away from the actual goal, the return to the Champions League, as eighth in the Premier League.
Without Aubameyang, the distance would be even greater.
Aubameyang extremely valuable for Arsenal
Since moving to the island in January 2018 for almost 64 million euros, the attacker has scored 70 goals across all competitions. More than any other Premier League player during this period, Liverpool FC Mohamed Salah was the second-best clipper to score 68 goals during this period. Neither will surpass his 13 Arsenal goals this calendar year in the Premier League.
“He’s our lucky charm,” said team-mate Rob Holding. And substitute goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez added with tears of joy on the lawn: “I told him before the game that he would win the game for us.”
It remains to be seen whether Aubameyang will do this again in the Arsenal jersey next season.
