A 43-year-old man was shot twice on Sunday at the Cantagal Travelers Camp in Béziers, report France Blue Hérault.

The man, injured in the thorax and the head, died despite the care provided by the emergency services on the spot. The events took place at the beginning of the afternoon, in a camp located on the outskirts of the town where several settled families from the Travelers’ community reside.

Three people were arrested

The shots are said to follow an argument between a tenant and the landlords over unpaid rent.

Three people were arrested in the wake: a 31-year-old man, suspected of being the shooter, his 44-year-old sister and his 66-year-old father. They were taken into custody by the Béziers police.
