Montevideo, Aug 1 (EFE) .- El Nacional beat Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday in their last game before the resumption of the Uruguayan Opening Tournament, while Peñarol fell 0-1 to Montevideo City Torque.
The tricolor, led by Gustavo Munúa, won the victory thanks to the scores of Argentine striker Gonzalo Bergessio and midfielder Santiago Rodríguez.
Meanwhile, attacker Agustín Dávila scored the only goal for Liverpool in a 90-minute match that was played behind closed doors at the Gran Parque Central stadium in Montevideo.
With this game, Nacional closed a series of friendlies in which they defeated Tacuarembó (1-0), Rentistas (2-0) and Deportivo Maldonado (3-2), tied against Cerro Largo (3-3) and fell against Montevideo Wanderers (0-1).
For its part, Peñarol, led by Diego Forlán, fell 0-1 to Montevideo City Torque at the Campeón del Siglo stadium, located on the outskirts of Montevideo, where the starting teams met in an 80-minute duel.
