Pure motorsport action with ADAC GT Masters and Formula 4


Clear the way for the ADAC GT Masters SPORT1: On Saturday the “League of Super Sports Cars” at the Lausitzring started the new season with a victory for Mercedes duo Luca Stolz / Maro Engel. The second race on Sunday will be live from 1 p.m. on TV on SPORT1 and in the stream.

The racing series is again top-class this year. Seven GT Masters champions are honored. In addition to defending champions Kelvin van der Linde and Sebastian Asch, Maximilian Götz, Daniel Keilwitz, Christopher Mies, Patric Niederhauser and Robert Renauer will also fight for the podium places.

With 15 rookies, there is also plenty of fresh blood. This season, 19 teams use vehicles from seven brands. These include Audi, Bentley, BMW, Corvette, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.

Among the rookies is the Porsche debutante Simona de Silvestro, who had a lot of bad luck in the opening race when she was turned over by a competitor lying on the podium.

As usual, a one-hour race with driver change will take place on seven race weekends on Saturdays and Sundays.

Formula 4 at the start again

In addition to the ADAC GT Masters, the ADAC TCR Germany and ADAC Formula 4 are also starting their season.

US Racing starts the season as defending champion and co-favorite: Former Formula 1 and DTM driver Ralf Schumacher and his partner Gerhard Ungar are aiming for the triple again this year: the titles in the drivers’ championship, the rookies and the team championship .

The opening race in Formula 4 at the Lausitzring was won by Van Amersfoort Racing’s Jonny Edgar from England. The second race on Sunday shows SPORT1 from 11 a.m. LIVE on TV and in the stream.

At the second race weekend, which will be held on August 15th and 16th at the Nürburgring, the ADAC GT 4 Germany will also join.

SPORT1 broadcasts the two runs of the ADAC GT Masters as well as one race of the LIVE frame series on free TV on each race weekend.
