Rome, August 1. (askanews) – The approach of a North-Atlantic perturbation, permeated by colder air at high altitude, will tend to affect Italy bringing an intense worsening of the meteorological conditions on the northern regions, with prevalently stormy precipitations, generally of strong intensity .
On the basis of available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection in agreement with the regions involved – which is responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – issued a warning of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could cause hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin available on the Department website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
The notice foresees from the afternoon-evening of today, Saturday 1 August, precipitations from scattered to widespread with a prevalent thunderstorm character, over Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Autonomous Province of Trento. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, hailstorms and strong gusts of wind. (Continued)
