Mick Schumacher clearly missed out on his third podium of the season in Formula 2’s main race at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Two weeks ago in Hungary, the 21-year-old had finished third in the main and sprint races of the Prema team. The son of record world champion Michael Schumacher also won his only victory in the Formula 1 substructure in Hungary in 2019.

The Russian Nikita Masepin (Hitech) won the race in Silverstone ahead of the Chinese Guanyu Zhou (Uni-Virtuosi) and the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (Carlin). In the overall classification, Schumacher’s Prema team-mate Robert Schwarzman (Russia) continues to lead, Schumacher is fifth.
In the sprint race on Sunday (11.10 a.m.), Schumacher will fight for a place on the podium the next time.
Schmuacher is struggling with tire problems
Schumacher, third in qualifying, got off to a perfect start in Silverstone and went into the first corner as the leader. He held three laps at the top of the field, then had to let Masepin past.

In the ninth lap both came to the pits to change tires, after which Schumacher struggled with the deteriorating quality of his tires. In the last laps he had to let the following drivers pass in rows.
