Semi-finalist of the first version, Richard Gasquet again joined the last four at UTS 2, after a very convincing victory against Feliciano Lopez. It is definitely a format that suits him very well. Saturday, Richard Gasquet quietly ventilated the veteran Spanish Feliciano Lopez 3-1 (14-11, 18-11, 18-10, 15-17). Sharp, consistent, dense in the strike and very regular, the Frenchman largely dominated the debates, wisely using tactically “luck cards” allocated by the format of these meetings in four quarters (point which counts double, winning shot worth 3 points, second service ball for the opponent etc …). With a record of three victories in three matches and only two lost quarter-times out of twelve, Gasquet rallies the last four without fear, as in the first version of UTS. He thus joins Corentin Moutet, winner a little earlier of Benoît Paire, and the two headliners, directly qualified, Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime, who face each other this Saturday evening. The winner of this match will then have the right to choose his opponent in the semi-finals.
