Germany’s top player Alexander Zverev reached the final at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown in Nice, France.
The world ranking seventh prevailed against the Frenchman Corentin Moutet in the round of four in the round of the last four with three of four won quarters (17:12, 10:12, 17:12, 13:11).
Zverev is waiting for the final opponents
In the final of the event, in which spectators are also admitted, the 23-year-old meets the winner of the duel between the Frenchman Richard Gasquet and the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, whom Zverev had suddenly defeated on Saturday evening.
For Zverev, the tournament on the Cote d’Azur is the first appearance after the controversial Adriatic tour, in which he made the headlines with a party video. On the Adriatic tour, several players were infected with the corona virus, including the organizer Novak Djokovic and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who played in Nice.
Zverev had wanted to isolate himself after the Adriatic tour. Then another party video from Monaco appeared, showing how Zverev celebrated wildly despite the self-imposed isolation. This caused plenty of resentment in the scene.
