The Federal District registered 44,722 probable dengue cases and 43 deaths due to the disease. According to the latest epidemiological bulletin from the Department of Health, 67 cases were the most severe form of the disease (DG) and 648 of dengue with alarm signs (DSA).
The data covers the period from 29 December 2019 to 2 September this year. The number of probable cases is 21.9% higher than that recorded in the same period of the previous year – when 36,685 were recorded. Over the months, this record only increases.
Also according to the bulletin, Ceilândia was the city that had the most reports of sick people this year, with 5,000 cases so far. The region is followed by Gama, with 4,682; and Santa Maria with 3,746 cases.
The Government of the Federal District carries out, in several regions of the DF, a task force with the support of various agencies to combat the mosquito Aedes aegypti. In the last week, Sanear Dengue inspected 2,944 properties and 6,076 deposits in Ceilândia, Samambaia, Taguatinga, São Sebastião and Sobradinho II, according to the Health Department.
Sanear Dengue is composed of the Executive Secretaries of Cities and Public Policies, both from the Government Secretariat, in addition to the Environmental Surveillance Directorate (Dival), with support from the Fire Department and regional administrations. Sanear Dengue is one of the “arms” of Sanear DF that was designed in an emergency way to ease the mosquito contagion. It was created to serve the cities with the highest incidence of dengue.
