As well as large parts of this season’s face-to-face events, Blizzard Entertainment, a successful game developer like World of Warcraft e Overwatch, announced that his next big meeting with fans and professionals will happen via videoconferences. BlizzConline was confirmed for the 19th and 20th of February 2021, with several attractions involving the public.

With a focus on interactivity, BlizzConline bets on Mostra da Comunidade, which is a hub of activities involving cosplay competitions, art and digital story contest and talent show. Below are descriptions of each action and how to participate.

Cosplay exhibition and contest

Anyone who likes to dress up and incorporate their favorite characters will be able to show the result of their work on BlizzConline, just like they do in nerdy events. But, for that, it is necessary to register in this link and observe the official rules. Registration must be done on this link by January 4, 2021.

For those who want not only to show off, but also to compete, they need to keep an eye on the four categories of the contest, so what is the main question under evaluation:

  • Best Blizzard character: interpretations of emblematic heroes and villains from the worlds of Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, StarCraft e Warcraft;
  • Best Blizzard weapons and armor: skills for creating epic battle gear;
  • Best modern creation: ability to work with materials such as foam and plastic, incorporating 3D printing, electronics and technology;
  • Best traditional creation: ability to work with materials such as fabric, leather, metal and wood.

The judges will choose a winner for each category and, among them, the best overall cosplay. Winners will be announced during the BlizzConline broadcast. It is worth mentioning that you do not need to choose in which category you will be evaluated; it will be determined by the judges as part of the evaluation process. If you want to participate, check the official rules and don’t forget to register on this link until January 4th, 2021.

Art and Digital Stories Contest

This is the opportunity for you to show your artistic talent, whether drawing or sculpting characters from Blizzard, which turns 30 in February – that is, inspiration is not lacking in the developer’s catalog. There will be prizes for the works in first, second and third place. The winners will be highlighted in one of the segments during the BlizzConline broadcast. Check the official rules and the registration on this link must be done by January 4, 2021.

If you do better with a camera in hand, BlizzConline also opens the event so that fans can recreate epic stories with their own original touches, simulate encounters of classic characters from different eras or universes, among other suggestions – your creativity is the limit. It can be a short film recorded in real life or animated, with game scenes … or even a mixture of the three. There will be prizes for first, second and third place, and you will have the chance to present your story to the world during the BlizzConline broadcast. Check the official rules and the registration on this link must be done by January 4, 2021.

Talent Show and the Murlocs March

If you are not very good at drawing or directing a short film, but love to sing, dance, perform magic tricks or distribute your charisma to the public, this is your chance to shine. Just set up an original or group presentation and show what you are capable of recording this activity on video – and hope that it will be chosen by the judges to be displayed on BlizzConline. Check the official rules and the registration on this link must be done by January 4, 2021.

To end all this interactivity with the audience, Blizzard brings to BlizzConline a peculiar procession that usually happens at face-to-face events: hundreds of people dressed in murlocs walking through the convention halls. To honor this tradition, the event holds the March of the Murlocs online. Below is a record of this meeting at Blizzcon 2018:

To be evaluated, just send a photo or video lasting 30 to 60 seconds, preferably recorded horizontally, walking, marching or dancing in Murloc costume (or your own interpretation of one). It is worth mentioning that photos and videos marching in the game will also be accepted. Check the official rules and the registration on this link must be done by January 4, 2021.

All this information and other complementary information can be accessed directly on the event website.
