Brazil registers 335 more deaths and 14 thousand cases of covid-19


This Sunday, Brazil registered 335 new deaths due to Covid-19, which brings the total number of deaths from the disease in the country to 141,741, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

14,318 new cases of the disease caused by the coronavirus were also reported, which brought the total of confirmed infections in the country to 4,732,309

On Sundays and Mondays, the numbers of recorded cases and deaths have been lower due to the impounding of data on weekends.

Brazil is the second country with the highest number of deaths from Covid-19 in the world, behind only the United States, and the third in number of cases, below the USA and India.

The Brazilian state most affected by Covid-19, São Paulo reached 972,237 infections and 35,108 deaths, leading the count in the country in both aspects.

According to the Ministry of Health, the second state with the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro, which has registered 18,278 fatal cases and 261,860 people with the disease so far.

In number of accumulated cases, Rio is fourth, while São Paulo is followed by Bahia (306,036) and Minas Gerais (288,619).

According to the ministry, Brazil has 4,060,088 records of patients recovered from the disease and 530,480 people being monitored. The lethality rate of Covid-19 in the country is 3.0%.
