The Cargo Terminal of Belo Horizonte International Airport, in Confins, received last Friday (25) another cargo flight with about 3 million doses of vaccines manufactured by the pharmaceutical company GSK to prevent meningitis C. All the material already it was sent to the Ezequiel Dias Foundation (Funed) to be made available for the National Immunizations Program of the Ministry of Health.
The operation was carried out by Cargolux in a Boeing 747-400.The flight left Luxembourg and arrived at the airport at 5:50 am. This is yet another joint effort between the public and private sectors to guarantee the supply of vaccines to the Brazilian population, so that there is no break in the vaccination coverage calendar in the country at this time of pandemic.
Fourth cargo operation in 2020 with vaccines against meningitis C
The flight that arrived this Friday, with about 3 million vaccines to prevent meningitis C, is the fourth of its kind received this year by Belo Horizonte International Airport. Before that, on August 27, the Cargo Terminal received about 1.5 million doses of vaccines manufactured by GSK against meningitis C. On April 27, there were 4 million doses. On July 30, 3.3 million doses arrived at the airport. In all cases, the material was sent to Funed to be made available to the Ministry of Health’s National Immunization Program.
Airport is certified by Anvisa
The Cargo Terminal of Belo Horizonte International Airport was recognized by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) for complying with Good Storage Practices, according to Resolution 346/02 guidelines. The certification proves that the Cargo Terminal meets all the requirements to receive cargo subject to the institution’s control, especially in the current time of the coronavirus pandemic. The certification reinforces the airport’s strategy of offering quality services with efficiency and customized service through integrated logistics solutions for the market.
