Corinthians hired striker Diogo Vitor, 23, who was revealed by Santos and had been without a club since last March. The information was provided by GloboEsporte.com on Thursday night.
Despite having some experience in the professional team of the São Paulo coast, the young player arrives to join the U-23 squad. If he likes the coaching staff, he can be promoted to Timão’s main team.
Without taking the field since April 2018, he has been collecting off-field problems in his short career. Caught in the doping test for cocaine use, he had to serve a suspension of a year and a half away from the lawns. In addition, he was also criticized at Santos for disappearing without giving explanations and, consequently, missing training.
Interestingly, one of his best performances with the Santos shirt happened precisely against Corinthians, for Paulistão in 2018. On that occasion, the striker entered the second half and scored the goal that ensured the 1 to 1 – the Corinthians goal was scored Renê Jr.
