Matheus Davó may have a new career path in the coming days. THE My Timon found that the board is studying to place him in the U-23 team, which will represent the club in the Brazilian Championship of Aspirants from October 18th.
The measure would aim to give the striker a chance to play official games. In the last 247 days, the striker played only four minutes for the main team – entered the end of the duel with the West, still in the first phase of Paulistão. This happened more than two months ago.
This scarcity of chances has become routine for the 21-year-old since he joined Corinthians in January. Davó only performed three times until today, being 40 minutes in front of the New York City, in the Florida Cup; 24 minutes against Mirassol, in the State; in addition to the four minutes of the game mentioned above, at Arena Barueri.
The internal evaluation at CT Joaquim Grava follows the same as that of Tiago Nunes and his coaching staff: the young man still has a lot to develop before trying to get a place in the main squad, both physically and technically / tactically.
Davó’s situation at Corinthians has never been the easiest. His hiring was contested by fans on social media before it was even completed. On that occasion, the board clarified to the My Timon that the amount invested in hiring the youth would be R $ 2 million for 60% of the economic rights, with payment in five installments.
Matheus Davó has a contract with Timão until December 31, 2023.
