Registration is now open in Bahia for volunteers who are interested in participating in the research on the vaccine against the new coronavirus (Covid-19), which is being developed by researchers at the University of Oxford, in partnership with the Swedish laboratory AstraZeneca. To participate, you must be over 18 years old.
The Oxford vaccine is applied to volunteers from Salvador, at São Rafael Hospital.
Registrations are made through the internet (https://redcap.idor.org/surveys/?s=3CLETYKCYT). When filling out the document, interested persons must inform some personal data, such as name, CPF, address, profession and also if they have already carried out any tests or exams to detect the infection caused by Covid-19.
So far, the number of volunteers who will be recruited in this new stage and when it will start has not been released.
Earlier this month, after an adverse reaction in a patient in the United Kingdom, the vaccine stopped testing. However, almost a week later, the tests were again done in Brazil.
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) received official information from the British government and the laboratory about the case of the volunteer and, on the same day, announced that the resumption of testing in Brazil was approved.
On the 15th of this month, Anvisa authorized the expansion of the number of volunteers to test the Oxford vaccine in Brazil.
