Koei Tecmo and Omega Force announced Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam. The game is scheduled for early 2021.
Combining action 1 against 1,000 Dynasty Warriors with the addition of strategic elements, including the command of the unit, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires puts players on a mission to conquer ancient China with sword and strategy. Powerful siege battles allow commanders to deploy units to capture strategic points on the map, such as castles. Experiencing high-risk fights each turn, players can now take control of these central points on the battlefield through the use of fire attacks or other ploys, siege weapons and, sometimes, simply by force while commanders execute their strategies and attack enemy troops by issuing vital commands to units throughout the skirmish.
According to the series producer Dynasty Warriors, Akihiro Suzuki, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires does not inherit the open world system of DW9. Instead, it’s a natural evolution of the series Empires, which aims to use the resources of Dynasty Warriors 9 to create battles with a sense of scale.
