The Federal Government released, on Monday, 28, the first installment of R $ 5 billion of the Emergency Program for Access to Credit, destined for the Peac-Maquininhas program. The new project aims to offer easy loans to help micro and small businesses during the new coronavirus pandemic.
For those who don’t know, Peac-Maquininhas is a new line of credit via a card machine. The tool offers a loan based on receipt history tenants. The amount of credit to be granted varies according to the sales profile of each entrepreneur, and can reach up to R $ 50 thousand.
According to the Ministry of Economy, it is estimated that the program could benefit approximately 3 million contractors. However, to access the loan via a card machine, companies must meet the following requirements:
- On March 20, 2020, he was classified as MEI, or micro or small business, according to Complementary Law No. 123, of December 14, 2006, and be registered in the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ).
- Have sold goods or provided services by means of debit or credit card machines (card machines) in the period before the pandemic; and
- Do not have other active credit operations that are guaranteed by credit or debit card receivables.
The program is aimed at micro and small companies with revenues of up to R $ 4.8 million. Credit operations will be guaranteed by receivables originating from credit and debit card machines. The loan amount to be granted corresponds to twice the monthly average of sales of goods and services received by the card machines, but the amount is limited to a maximum of R $ 50 thousand.
It is worth mentioning that this calculation will be based on the period from March 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020, that is, in the period before the pandemic. The interest rate is 6% per year for those who use the credit via a card machine. The term to repay the loan is up to 36 months.
Peac-Maquininhas will be fully financed with Union resources, since in addition to the guarantee offered by the contractor, with receivables originating from the machines, credit operations also have the Union guarantee.
