The manufacturer did not detail the mechanics of the SUV and: concept, but confirmed that it “indicates the direction of a future mass production model of the brand’s first electric vehicle for China”.

Among the technologies already confirmed, there are accident prevention systems, such as automatic braking, alert of blind spots, monitoring of unintended exit from the lane and adaptive autopilot.

Even though it still has visual elements typical of a concept, the general lines of the SUV and: concept advance what will be seen in the new HR-V, often spotted in tests in Japan.

Expected to debut in the first half of 2021, the second generation of the model will adopt the shape of an “SUV-coupe”, with a more pronounced trim at the rear. The front will also follow the concept, with narrow headlights and a new luminous identity.

According to Japanese publications, the new HR-V will grow and climb a notch in the Honda line, being repositioned for the segment of medium-sized SUVs (such as Jeep Compass, Ford Territory and Toyota Corolla Cross) and making room for a smaller and cheaper model.
