HTC, whose smartphones were already very popular, patented a device with an unusual design, equipped with a flexible screen.

According to the LetsGoDigital resource, information about the device was released on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The patent illustrations give an idea of the original design of the gadget.

As you can see from the images, we are talking about a shell-shaped smartphone. At the same time, unlike devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola razr, the flexible screen folds not into the case, but out.

This design eliminates the need to equip the smartphone with an external auxiliary display. The flip side of the coin is that the screen will be unnecessarily subject to damage during daily use.

The renders published by LetsGoDigital show that the device has a multi-module rear camera. The front camera is located in a small hole in the center of the upper area of the flexible screen. In addition, there is a symmetrical USB Type-C port.
