Buddy Valastro spoke for the first time about the accident that mutilated part of his hand and left him hospitalized in the last week. The confectioner and presenter of reality ‘Cake Boss‘spoke in an interview for the newspaper’ Today ‘, next to his son, Bartolo Buddy Valastro III, 16 years old.
“I think I’m fine as I can, due to the situation. It was really a surreal accident. It was really crazy how it happened, but I am very proud of my children and my brothers-in-law, who really helped me and took action to free me and help me quickly to recover, ”he said.
Then, he gave details of how the accident happened: “The machine stopped, and I went to check it out. I leaned over to see, which I normally would, and without realizing it, I turned my face for a second and my right hand was pierced by a fork. And another pin that came through the fork just took my middle finger and the ring. It just took half my hand. ”
The famous confectioner also says that he received help from family members quickly. “At the time I screamed and my children came back. I have no idea what kept me calm. First I looked at my hand, I saw blood all over the place and I was petrified. And the machine came and went, because the machine works back and forth, so someone told me to stay calm. I told my kids that they had to get me out of that machine, ”he said.
Buddy Valastro had to undergo two surgeries after the accident, and his recovery is being difficult. Still in the interview, he says he is grateful for the prayers and messages he has received from fans: “It makes me want to fight to get better for them. It makes me want to be the man I was ”.
