Increasing pensions and wages as before the crisis costs the state 320 million | State’s budget

If the executive chooses, during the year of 2021, to prolong the policy for pensions and salaries of the civil service that he had been following before the pandemic, he will have to assume an additional expense of around 320 million euros. It will be, for the Government, a choice in terms of income policy with a gross impact on the budget deficit close to 0.15% of GDP, but which, in addition to helping to sustain domestic demand, would contribute to unlocking negotiations with the parties on the left on the State Budget (OE) for 2021.
