The goalkeeper Jailson renewed his contract with Palmeiras until 2021. With six years at home, the archer, substitute for Weverton, had his bond extended for another season.
In addition to him, who is the current number 42 of Vanderlei Luxemburgo’s team, several other teammates celebrated the news, including the club’s idol and former goalkeeper Marcos.
“Good news! Jailson seems, good people, good group, good at review, palmeirense and a goalkeeper that we trust too much. Congratulations,” said Marcos on Instagram.
In his official profile, the athlete did not let the news pass by and published a record where he appears signing the new contract: “Thank my God for another year at my house”.
An important figure in winning the 2016 Brazilian Championship, Jailson replaced Vagner, who did not perform well after Fernando Prass’ injury. In the competition, he participated in 19 matches, winning 14 and drawing five, including in the match that gave the title to Cuca’s men, in the 1-0 win against Chapecoense, at Allianz Parque.
The positive season yielded good results to the archer, who won the award for best goalkeeper of the competition, by CBF. Since then, the professional continues as an emblematic figure in the alviverde cast.
