LAST: According to Deadline, the film has now been officially confirmed. According to the website, it will premiere on the streaming service Amazon Prime at the end of October.
In August, a mysterious video created speculation about a possible sequel to the hit comedy “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan”.
Now the American film sites Collider and Film Stage that the film has already been shot – and that previews have all been completed.
The film will reportedly follow Borat Sagdiyev, the unorthodox Kazakh journalist who originally went to the United States to make a documentary and get impulses to his home country. The film from 2006 was both an audience favorite and a commercial success.
Recently, a movie titled “Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan” was registered with Writers Guild America. Later, the registration was removed from the page. It writes The Guardian.
It was Filmweb that first mentioned the alleged recording in this country.
According to Film Stage, US Vice President Mike Pence and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani appear in the film. The pandemic and the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein are also mentioned as possible topics.
In July, Guiliani told Page Six that he had called police after being subjected to what he believed was an attempt to trick him on camera, when a man in a pink bikini called up for an agreed interview.
– It was only later that I realized that it must have been Sacha Baron Cohen. “I thought of everyone he’s cheated on before, and was pretty happy with myself for not being able to fool me,” he told Page Six.
Who may be in the register is currently unclear.
Collider also refers to the much talked about video, which was first published by TikTok user @alexandheir.
It apparently showed comedian and actress Sacha Baron Cohen in a car at low speed on the road, wearing the loose beard and the iconic gray suit that became world famous after the film premiere in 2006.
On the stage
Borat was most recently seen in a comedy show for the American entertainment program “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, but has not portrayed the Kazakh journalist on film or in his own TV programs since 2006. Borat’s first appearance was in Cohen’s TV program “Da Ali G Show ».
Lately, the comedian has also made a name for himself when, according to The Washington Post, he took the stage during the far-right event March for Our Rights rally, and performed a song in which he attacked Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Anthony Fauci and World Health Organization (WHO).
The last time we saw Cohen on the small screen was in the satirical program “Who Is America?” on HBO. Dagbladet’s reviewer stated that Cohen still had the ability to “make us laugh until we get a stomach ache”, and rolled a fiver on the dice.
Dressed as different characters, Cohen tricked familiar and lesser-known faces into blaming themselves on camera. Among other things, he got George W. Bush’s Vice President Dick Cheney to sign a tool used for “waterboarding” (a form of torture associated with the American prison camp Guantánamo Bay.)
