JAC iEV 330P: first 100% electric pickup truck sold in Brazil debuts in the market without direct rivals, at least for now

JAC officially starts sales of the medium electric pickup truck iEV 330P, a model that debuts at a price of R $ 289,900 offering a range of up to 320 kilometers on a battery charge. The truck had 25 units sold in the pre-order, with the first deliveries scheduled for January 2021.

With 5.615 m in length, the iEV 330P
it is almost 30 cm longer than models such as Chevrolet S10 and Ford Ranger, the result of the adoption of a bucket with dimensions closer to that used in simple cabin users and capable of carrying up to 800 kg of cargo.

Equipped with a set of lithium-iron batteries, with a maximum capacity of 67.2 kWh, the iEV 330P uses an engine with 150 hp of power and a torque of 33.7 kgfm from the start. Numbers close to the maximum values ​​of the 2.0 diesel engine of a Volkswagen Amarok S.

Like electric cars, the JAC pickup is equipped with a regenerative brake system, which takes advantage of decelerations to recharge the batteries. According to the company, the slow charge of the batteries (from 20% to 100%) takes 8 hours, time that drops to 1h30 with the use of a 40W fast charger.

The equipment list includes a multimedia center with a 7 “screen, reverse camera, and multifunctional steering wheel, air conditioning, electric front and rear windows and headlights and fog lamps.

In addition to the pickup, JAC also announced the official start of sales for the iEV 1200T light truck. With a capacity of 7.5 tons of PBT, it has 97 kWh batteries that guarantee a range of up to 200 km. The electric motor develops 177 hp and allows the vehicle to reach 90 km / h.

According to JAC, in addition to the 25 units of iEV 330P
, since April, 100 units of the truck have already been sold, in a list that includes companies such as PepsiCo, CPFL and Porto Seguro. The first 50 copies will be delivered by the end of the year, with the remainder reaching buyers by February 2021.
