Rúben Amorim with another player available for the game with LASK Linz
Good news for Rúben Amorim on the eve of playing LASK Linz, the playoff game to access the Europa League group stage: Pote is recovered from Covid-19 and has already trained this Wednesday with the rest of Sporting’s squad.
Thus, the coach and six of the nine players who were infected with the SARS-Cov-2 virus – Luís Maximiano, Gonçalo Inácio and Rodrigo Fernandes joined the working group yesterday – they will be able to make their contribution to the team tomorrow. It will not be, yet, a lion at maximum strength, but it walks there. And at any moment three more ‘reinforcements’ may appear: Renan, Borja and Palhinha – with the exception of these three players, the Covid-19 tests done yesterday (mandatory UEFA tests, 48 hours before the match) did not detect any new positive cases. Tabata, who yesterday was made official as lions reinforcement, he has also trained with the team in Alcochete.
Jovane remains on the sidelines recovering from an injury sustained in the game with Paços de Ferreira on Sunday (myalgia in his right thigh).
