A Mars Express probe from the European Space Agency discovered several reservoirs of Water in a liquid state under the ice of the polar region of southern Mars.
The discovery was published in the journal Nature and strengthens theories about the existence of a large lake of Water salt under the surface of the ‘Red Planet’, as well as the possibility of the existence of life.
Italian researchers, led by Sebastian Emanuel Lauro and Elena Pettinelli, from Roma University Three, will have discovered three new lagoons undergroundâneas using techniques common to terrestrial satellites. The largest of these lagoons is between 20 and 30 kilometers long and will be surrounded by smaller reservoirs of Water.
