Need to change several stages

BinckBank Tour is a race that visits both Belgium and the Netherlands every year.

Due to increasing virus transmission, coronary restrictions have been tightened in the Netherlands, and there will therefore be no driving in the wooden school country. Among other things, travel that is not necessary between the big cities The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam is discouraged.

The second stage was to be a pace stage in Vlissingen. It is now canceled. The decision was made in collaboration with local authorities in the areas of Sittard-Geleen, Terneuzen and Vlissingen.

“It was a difficult but necessary decision to prevent the spread of the virus,” the mayor of Vlissingen, Bas van den Tillaar, told Dutch

Another stage was to go in the Netherlands and it is Friday’s 4th stage from Riemst in Belgium to Sittard-Geleen. That stage has also been canceled, but the organizer is working to have an alternative stage completed.

The start of Thursday’s stage has also been moved.

The decision now casts doubt on whether the classic Amstel Gold Race in the Netherlands can be run as planned on 10 October. A decision is expected in the near future.
