Despite living on a street that exists in London, England, Sherlock Holmes shocked the internet because it didn’t really exist.
The character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ended up in the current affairs in Brazil during yesterday afternoon (29).
It all started with research on Enola Holmes, Sherlock’s sister – you can find out more about her in this post of ours – which ended with the revelation that neither she nor the detective existed:
I watched enola holmes and went to find out if it really existed
I discovered that not even sherlock holmes existed who will tell her

The information that Sherlock did not exist shocked others:

And the information that some people didn’t know that Sherlock is a character shocked others:

Taking advantage of the occasion, fans of the character used Twitter to praise his qualities:
Sherlock Holmes is such a well-built character that it’s hard to deal with the fact that he doesn’t exist.

And to promote other figures:
Sherlock Holmes is in trends because the guys didn’t know he was fictional, and I just remember how much I love this British culture of making characters be seen as real (like King Arthur, Robin Hood, Sherlock himself …) ❤️

Including detective Hercule Poirot, from Agatha Christie:
Silence the young Brazilian is discovering that Sherlock Holmes is just a fictional character ♀️
Imagine when they find out when Poirot is also kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Or to remind people that despite the ship Titanic having really existed, Jack and Rose are just characters:
from the same creators of “how come rose and jack didn’t exist ???” here comes “sherlock holmes is a fictional character ???”

There was reference to Doctor Strange:
what to talk about this sherlock holmes reference in a 2007 weird doctor comic, before benedict played both sherlock and stephen? pic.twitter.com/e0O82Lmjt2

And there were those who arrived in the middle of the confusion and thought that the series Sherlock, from the BBC, would have a new season:

Sherlock Holmes is a character created by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, appearing for the first time in an impression as the protagonist of A Study in Red, published in 1887. The character starred in more short stories published in magazines, totaling four novels and 56 short stories.
Holmes was inspired by Joseph Bell, a surgeon, who was able to reach broad conclusions within a few minutes of observation; and also Sir Henry Littlejohn, head of Edinburgh, Scotland’s middle school, who taught Conan Doyle about the links between medical investigation and crime detection.
The character was used in more than 25 thousand adaptations, including theater, cinema, series, publications, games and more.
In Enola Holmes, Sherlock is not the protagonist, making room for his sister to star in the film, which is available on Netflix.
