Manchester City and Benfica have agreed a transfer fee for midfielder Rúben Dias (23). This is confirmed by Benfica on its website.
The Portuguese big club goes out with the sum: 68 million euros plus 3.6 million euros in additional clauses. The total sum corresponds to approximately NOK 798 million.
At the same time, Nicolás Otamendi is going the opposite way. However, the British media, including the BBC, point out that the transitions are treated as two separate agreements.
Otamendi is sold for 15 million euros, which amounts to 167 million kroner at today’s exchange rate.
Only the contract signing remains before the Dias transition is finally confirmed. For Otamendi, the medical check and contract signing remain, the Portuguese club states.
Earlier this summer, Manchester City strengthened the central defense with Nathan Aké. Last season, they struggled in defense, and suffered from the fact that important Aymeric Laporte was out for a long time with injury.
