Mozambique recorded four more deaths due to the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths to 58, and registered 226 new infections, announced the Ministry of Health.
One of the fatal victims is 41 years old, two others are 52 years old and the fourth was 71 years old, with the registered deaths occurred in the provinces of Tete, Inhambane and in the city of Maputo.
Mozambique now has an accumulated total of 7,983 cases. The province of Zambézia recorded the highest number of cases 108 (47.8%), followed by the city of Maputo with 40 (17.7%).
The health authorities announced yet another 38 recovered people, bringing the total to 4,807 (60% of the cumulative infections), while 52 people are hospitalized in isolation centers and also suffer from «various chronic pathologies, associated with covid-19.»
Since the announcement of the first case on March 22, the country has cumulatively tested 134,011 suspected cases.
