A devastating fourth final over the Boston Celtics took the Miami Heat straight to the NBA finals, claiming East conference champions. A 125-113 victory ensured a 4-2 victory in the conference final and a meeting with the LA Lakers from Wednesday into the absolute final to qualify the Toronto Raptors’ successor.
Champions in 2006, 2012 and 2013, reach their sixth final and will then meet LeBron James’ team – who with the Heat went to the final four times and won both titles this decade before leaving in 2014.
As for the game, Bam Adebayo scored 32 points and had 14 rebounds for the Heat, who even lost by 6 points 9 minutes from the end, but that is a very long time the same Adebayo would put Miami in front in the middle of the last quarter, for 101-100, and the team would no longer lose the advantage in the tie. Jimmy Butler added up to 22 points.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 26 points and Jayson Tatum scored 24, insufficient to reverse the tie.
