- Aalesund – Rosenborg 1-2
Åge Hareide and Rosenborg are eyeing silver in the Eliteserien after a good period and Molde collapse.
On Sunday night, Aalesund was the opponent at Color Line Stadium. And it started well for the guests from Trondheim.
Both young boys – Emil Konradsen Ceide and Edvard Tagseth – gained trust from the start. But it was Kristoffer Zachariassen who set the standard for the evening.
He clinked with a long shot from outside the penalty area four minutes before the break. The ball went in the direction of the cross – and was a goal from the top shelf.
Aalesund equalized with Sigurd Haugen in the 62nd minute. He was played beautifully through, came alone with goalkeeper André Hansen and placed the ball in goal.
Aalesund had a goal offside canceled. That made coach Lars Arne Nilsen despair on the sidelines.
Instead, Rosenborg went up 2-1 in the minutes afterwards. It was a score of the comic kind. Samuel Adegbenro put in front of goal. The ball went through Fredrik Carlsen to Kristoffer Zachariassen. The first shot went straight at goalkeeper Andreas Lie. But the return certainly put Zachariassen in goal.
Aalesund never managed to come back, and thus there were three new points for Rosenborg. The team made a jump up to second place in the table.
Sunday’s victory could be the start of a dream week for Rosenborg. After the match, it became clear that Markus Henriksen had decided to return to the club. He has signed a contract that extends until the end of 2024.
On Thursday, PSV Eindhoven awaits in the playoffs at Lerkendal. The winner goes to the group stage of the Europa League.
– We did what we came for: We took three points. It was not the nicest way. But we took the points anyway, says match winner Zachariassen to Eurosport.
– How important were the three points?
– They were crucial. Now we have signed up at the top. We must build on the positive. There was a bit to tackle here, he admits to Eurosport.
