Thiago Alcantara is isolated after passing a positive corona test.
Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara is in isolation at home after taking a positive corona test, the club reports on its own website.
The 29-year-old recently joined the Merseyside club from Bayern Munich and made his debut in the away match against Chelsea last weekend, when he was substituted at the break.
The midfielder should have only experienced mild symptoms of the disease and should be on the road to recovery.
Liverpool doctor Jim Moxon is optimistic about getting Thiago back on the training field soon.
– It is each individual’s choice whether they want to publish the result of a COVID-19 test. We have followed the protocols to the letter, and Thiago is fine. Hopefully he will be back with us soon, says Moxon.
The Spanish national team player was not in the Liverpool squad that met Arsenal on Monday. At the press conference prior to the settlement, manager Jürgen Kopp stated that Thiago was doubtful about the settlement.
Liverpool face Arsenal in the League Cup on Thursday, before Aston Villa are opponents at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
