Two Norwegian People’s Aid employees died in an accident in the Solomon Islands

Two of Norwegian People’s Aid’s employees, a British and an Australian, have died in a blasting accident on the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

– We can confirm that two of our colleagues died in a tragic accident with explosives in the Solomon Islands, says Assistant Secretary General of Norwegian People’s Aid Per Nergaard in a press release.

The two victims are an Australian citizen and a British citizen.

Since 2019, Norwegian People’s Aid has been working to develop a database of the large quantities of explosives from World War II that are located on the archipelago. The work is now stopped while the case is being investigated by local police.
