Sao Paulo – Vaccination against Covid-19 through the Unified Health System (SUS) should start on December 15, 2020, as said today by the governor of São Paulo, João Dória. The first to be immunized must be health professionals. However, approval by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) is required for this schedule to be met.
The São Paulo government and the company Sinovac, which develops the CoronaVac vaccine in partnership with the Butantan Institute, have entered into an agreement to purchase 46 million doses for the state.
The forecast was to immunize the entire population of São Paulo until February 2021, but today, this date has been extended, and it is believed that the initiative should last until the end of March next year. Vaccination should be in two doses, with an interval of 14 days between them.
