A woman missing for two years was found floating about 2.5 kilometers from a beach in Puerto Colombia (Colombia) by a fisherman last Saturday (9/26).
Angélica Gaitán, 46, was with hypothermia and quite debilitated when she was rescued by Rolando Visbal. The woman had lost contact with the family two years ago.
According to the local press, Angelica had been at sea for eight hours. The Colombian woman arrived at a city hospital in shock.
Her whereabouts and what she did in the two years of missing are being investigated by the police.
RCN radio reported that Angelica threw herself into the sea to escape the physical and psychological abuse she suffered from her ex-husband, with whom he stayed for 20 years. The relationship was not supported by her family, who lives in Bogotá, the country’s capital.

“The maltreatment started in my first pregnancy. He acted violently with me. The violence continued in the second pregnancy, but I couldn’t leave the house because the girls were small. I denounced him, he was arrested, but he came home 24 hours later. , and the aggressions were repeated “, commented Angélica to the radio.
The family came from Bogotá to support Angélica, who was living with her daughters in a shelter in Barranquilla to escape from her ex.
“I was reborn”, she said.
