The nursing home registered an outbreak of the disease in September, but since the beginning of this month it is considered free, according to the 5th Regional Health Coordination.
The patient was a 74-year-old man who had a history of previous illnesses. He had been admitted to the ICU since September, and died on Saturday night (17).
According to a note released by the Gramado City Hall, the elderly was the last of the asylum that was still hospitalized after the outbreak at the site (read full statement below).
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) Gramado and Hospital São Miguel regretfully recorded the 29th death of a resident of Gramado by Covid-19. The male patient was 74 years old and had comorbidities. She died on Saturday night, the 17th, and was admitted to the ICU since the 4th of September.
He was a resident at the Long Term Care Institution – ILPI (nursing home), where an outbreak of coronavirus was recorded in early September. He is the 12th death from the home. He was the last patient at the institution who was hospitalized.
